Dr Gemma Jerome is an environmental planner and strategic advisor specialising in nature-positive development. As Founder and former Director (Emeritus) of Building with Nature, Gemma has spent her career bridging the gap between world-class research and commercial delivery. She is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute and has held significant advisory roles for Natural England and the British Standards Institute.
As a trained Forest School leader and permaculture designer, Gemma blends strategic policy with heart-centred leadership. She views development not just as a technical puzzle, but as a living system that requires the same facilitation and adaptive thinking found in nature-based learning environments. This perspective allows her to navigate complex stakeholder challenges with a focus on co-creation and long-term stewardship, helping to build resilient, multi-species communities. Now focusing on independent strategic oversight, Gemma is honoured to bring this multidisciplinary perspective to the TerraLupa Collective, championing development that serves both people and the living planet.
