Dr. Gemma Jerome is an environmental planner and strategic advisor specializing in nature-positive development. As the founder and former director (emeritus) of Building with Nature, Gemma has spent her career bridging the gap between world-class research and commercial implementation. She is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute and has held key advisory roles at Natural England and the British Standards Institute.
As a trained Forest School leader and permaculture designer, Gemma combines strategic policy with heart-centered leadership. She views development not just as a technical puzzle, but as a living system that requires the same facilitation and adaptive thinking found in nature-based learning environments. This perspective allows her to navigate complex stakeholder challenges with a focus on co-creation and long-term stewardship, helping to build resilient, multi-species communities.
