Kara de los Reyes founded TERRALUPA in 2020. After nearly two decades in commercial architecture, she shifted her focus to ecological regeneration and design that respects local ecosystems and communities.
Her work includes consulting for architectural and engineering firms in Bristol on leadership, sustainability, and research partnerships, and co-designing a new MSc course. She also holds voluntary positions, having served as a Board Trustee for Land is Life (representing Indigenous People globally) for over five years, and currently Board Trustee for Artspace Lifespace in Bristol, and Co-CEO for The Association of Collaborative Design.
Her past experience includes being part of the TEDxBristol Core Team, an Associate and Senior Lecturer at the University of West England, and an External Examiner at the Welsh School of Architecture and Central St. Martins. She has also been a visiting lecturer at Bath Spa and Leeds Beckett University.
The foundation of her work is in sharing a design practice that promotes positive integration with local ecosystems and community.
