Javier "Javi" Gras, a civil engineer with a master’s degree in structural engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a second master’s degree in structural design from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, has focused his career on international transportation infrastructure. As Structures Design Manager for multi-billion-euro projects, he introduced innovative, regenerative practices at Ferrovial Construction (FC).
This led to a collaboration with FC’s Innovation Department and his appointment as a Bio-Leadership Fellow in April 2021. He now works part-time as Relationships and Impact Lead for The Bio-Leadership Project, fostering sustainable and regenerative organizations and curating their business impact. Javi also facilitates nature-based leadership programs and retreats, helping individuals and teams reconnect with nature to develop resilience, connection, adaptability, systemic awareness, and care.
Javi acknowledges the construction industry's role in the destruction of our planet's life systems and is determined to work toward reversing the negative effects of our professions.
