Technical assistance for the development of the impact measurement system for the Support Program for Switchers—green entrepreneurs in the Mediterranean—led by MedWaves.
The Switchers Support Program is an initiative that contributes to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs by creating and promoting sustainable businesses in the Mediterranean.
The primary focus is on innovative companies that implement environmental and social solutions that contribute to the transition toward sustainable and equitable consumption and production models. These companies operate in various sectors, including organic food, renewable energy, waste management, sustainable tourism, the organic textile industry, sustainable construction, organic cosmetics, and sustainable mobility, among others.
From 2022 to the present, support has been provided to the MEDWAVES Switchers program in the following areas:
- The development of the Theory of Change, including the creation of program and company indicators.
- The development of the Impact Measurement Tool for SMEs, which includes environmental, social, and economic indicators, as well as comprehensive methodological guidelines for its implementation.
- Measuring the environmental, social, and economic impact of 30 SMEs in the Mediterranean (Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Egypt, Spain, and Italy), including their carbon footprint.
- Research on impact measurement systems available to SMEs, resulting in the publication: Impact Measurement Systems Available to Sustainable SMEs.
- Development of communication impact case studies for sustainable SMEs.
